Logoworkout Roadmap

I have big plans and hopes for Logoworkout to grow into a platform that can teach aspiring logo designers everything they need to hone their skills and pursue their passion for logo design. This roadmap outlines my plans and ideas, along with my initial thoughts on the order of implementation. However, everything is subject to change. New ideas will likely emerge from the community, some ideas might be discarded, and the sequence of actions may evolve. This is not a definitive roadmap, but a way to share the future plans for Logoworkout with everyone.

Lessons and Tutorials

Adding lessons and tutorials to the website is a high priority and will be an ongoing task. Initially, the focus will be on written content, but I also plan to create video lessons and tutorials. Since I haven't produced video content before, it may take some time for me to gather the courage to get in front of the camera. I might start with faceless videos to ease into it. We'll see how it goes.

Exercises

Another feature I want to add to the website is exercises. While I don't have a lot of ideas for exercises yet, I do have some that will help you practice creative thinking, expand your horizons, warm up exercises, and a few more.

Resource Center

Hopefully with the help of the community I will be able to create what I like to call a Resource Center, where links to usefull resources are shared, as well as where to find high quality inspiration and book recommendations. Book recommendations will be added as affiliate links as a way to support Logoworkout, but the recommendations will be curated, not just an endless list to increase the chances of getting a commission on a book that is subpar.

For those who might not know what an affiliate link is, it’s simply a link to the book on the seller’s website that tracks that you came from the Logoworkout website. If you purchase the book, I get a small commission on the sale. You don’t pay extra, so it doesn’t affect you, my cut comes from the seller’s revenue. It’s a great way to support Logoworkout for free if you’re planning to buy the book anyway.

User Portfolios

I have plans to make this website more than just a learning platform, but a place where users can create accounts and upload their own work on their personal portfolio page. The uploaded images will also be featured in the website gallery for everyone else to browse through, and a sorting filter will be added that will let you search for specific logo styles as well as keywords and so on. Whether or not a like and comment system will be included I have yet to decide and when the time comes I will probably make some polls or surveys to help me figure out if this is a good or bad idea to add. As the website is free to use, and creating a user will also be free, there will be upload restrictions, but the exact amount of uploads are yet to be decided.

Membership Perks

As mentioned before, Logoworkout is a free website, but I hope to get community support through Patreon or a similar platform if there’s a better-suited option. I don’t want to lock any essential content behind a membership fee; instead, I want to offer supporting members some extra fun perks that are non-essential for learning and practicing logo design on Logoworkout. Here are the perks I've come up with so far:

  • Join the Logoworkout Hall of Fame with your username on display.
  • The ability to change the website color scheme to your liking.
  • Access to a special Logoworkout Discord channel.
  • Shoutouts in future video content.
  • The ability to create polls to A/B test your logo designs.
  • Early access to lessons, articles, and tutorials.
  • Early access to video content.
  • Logoworkout will follow you on Instagram.
  • Increased personal portfolio space.
  • Access to the daily workout archive with all the design briefs.
  • A free copy of the upcoming e-book.
  • Influence upcoming content through suggestions and polls.
  • Priority for potential future logo feedback video submissions.
  • Personal help and assistance with designing logos.

The perks will be divided into tiers, as is customary for Patreons, and hopefully more ideas for perks will be added over time.
